I have been reading a lot of bride-to-bes’ blogs as of late. And it really amazes me how detail they can all be when it comes to sharing about their wedding preparation. I mean we are talking about diligently updating, googling, posting and all. My respect goes out to all of you la. Seriously. As I have mentioned in one of my previous posts, I had this dream of blogging everything about my wedding preparation. But it really proves to be too much for me. It’s not an easy task planning your own wedding. And I have no drive to update my blog every single day (or every single week for that matter). But since the ticker shows 21 days (thanks Aritha for reminding me), I think today might be a good day to share where I am in terms of getting myself prepared for the (not so) big day. For the reception in KL, I have started to distribute the invitations. Almost done with that. I just need to send out the virtual invitations and I’m done. I don’t plan to invite too many friends for the ceremony in Penang. Just really close ones. It’s gonna be a simple and small ceremony where most of the invitees are my mom’s and dad’s relatives. But it really wouldn’t hurt to have my own friends around.
About the outfit, baju berinai and baju sanding kt Penang je yg dh fully siap. (so dah leh kawen la septtnye kn? :p) Engagement outfit still needs to be altered sbb bile aku pake baju tu, nampak mcm bontot burung je kt zip blakang. No idea what’s wrong. Perhaps too loose kot. Since we are talking about the outfits, I think I should share the change of plans that happened the last time I went back to Penang. You see, the initial plan was to have the solemnization ceremony at night in the comfort of my own home. But then, tok kadi tu nk suh nikah kt masjid (yg aku rs x sampe 10 langkah dr umah aku kot) lepas asar. Yes. I don’t know about you people, but to me, this is quite a big change. I mean, the cards have been printed stating that my majlis will start at 8pm. Xkn nk letak liquid paper kt card aku kot? Dinch mahu. I asked the tok kadi 3 kali kot, ‘Xleh wat kt umah ke ustaz?’ Mmg jwpan dier same je. So we had no choice but to succumb to the tok kadi’s ‘suggestion’. Tp itu la kn. Ttibe aku nk kene wat baju untuk nikah kt masjid la pulak. Sbb nyer ialah, awal2 dulu aku gatal wat baju kaler2 utk nikah sbb aku mmg igt nk nikah kt umah. Pastu trus sanding lite2. skang lite2 la sgt kn. Mrasa la. Tp aku x risau sbb baju nikah aku (yg kaler putih tu) dh siap pun. :) Tinggal nk fitting je. Thanks to Wan, my miracle worker. I really love him. Sgt efficient. Oh, baju bersanding kt KL yg dibuat oleh Abang Man juge dh siap, tp x fitting lagi. Lagi 21 ari tinggal nk kawen, aku x try baju2 aku lagi. Ok ke ar? Tawakal je laaa.

Venue in Penang is of course my house. According to my Mom, everything’s in place. Tinggal nk cuci umah je. Alhamdulillah. I think after my brother’s wedding in October (yes, 2 org anak mak aku kawen thn ni. wonder woman x?), I’m probably gonna give my parents a treat. A vacation maybe? :) Venue kt KL pulak mmg dh confirm la. The hall is inclusive of catering and what not. It has already been paid, fully. Yeay~. Gembira sbb a major portion of our budget is for the hall. So bila dh bayar tu rs lega sgt. Oh ya, we actually requested for additional flowers and scallops to be added for the dais. Only that has not been fully paid yet. The rest, beres. :D
Moving on, wedding favours. I’m handing out handmade chocolates (for adults) and cookies (for kids) in Penang. Payment for the chocolates including delivery charges) is settled. Hopefully those chocolates will arrive safely in Penang. *hi ayin* For the cookies, I will only need to pay upon delivery/pick-up. *hi ayin lagi* Oh and I still need to confirm the design of those cookies with Babycakes. Haven’t done that yet. Nnt la. Esok ke.
Yg reception in KL, cupcakes telah menjadi pilihan hati. Ini pun x byr abis lagi. Br deposit. Need to pay upon delivery/pick-up jgk. My Darling ttibe mcm nk tambah order lagi. Takut x cukup. Tp x firmly decide lagi whether to proceed with ordering the extras or not. Cukup ke 500 favours for 700 guests? I mean assuming the other 200 are kids. Ideas anyone?
Photographers for both ceremonies have been confirmed and their deposits have been paid. Interested to see their work, you can find their link at the right side of my page. Yg kat Penang is Neur Maya, yg kt KL Avicenna Studio. Fairuz (Avicenna) dh jumpe and discuss pape yg ptt dh. I have yet to meet up with Azam (Neur Maya). Sempat ke? Hmm. Malas nk pk. Tawakal lagiii.
Since it’s a package, we engaged the same videographer for both ceremonies. Senang cerita. We have met Rosli (CST Production) and viewed his sample videos, slide show and all. Very satisfied. Can’t wait to see the outcome of my wedding video! :D Link videographer pun ade kt sebelah kanan ye. Kalau berminat dan byk masa, just drop by and watch the uploaded videos. It’s really fun. Hehe.
About food, I don’t have to worry much about it since my Mom is taking care of everything with regards to it. Utk berinai, bertunang, menikah, bersanding sume2 la. Mak aku settle kn. For the reception in KL, it’s been taken care by D’Saji. It comes together with the package (hall, dais, catering) so we only need to choose the menu. And it’s been done. Tinggal nk makan aje. :p
One of the most important things to consider is who my bridesmaid would be. When my Mom asked, I told her I wanted Aritha to be my bridesmaid. Reason being, she’s married. Xde la makcik2 aku bising aku pilih anak dara kn. Derang ni byk pantang. Tp Aritha had to go and be a responsible wife in US. I had backups of course, iaitu Shasha atau Elmi. Mmg dlm kepala hotak aku ade 3 org ni je la. Since Shasha had just served as Aritha’s bridesmaid, I asked Elmi. Unfortunately, Elmi’s family (read : aunties) were not in favor. So, I had to ask Shasha hoping she’d say yes. And she did! :D I told my Mom I don’t have that many married gfs. So she said as long as Shasha’s parents are ok, she’s fine. Alhamdulillah. Skang ni aku eksaitet nk tunggu baju bridesmaid aku siap. Boleh? :p Aritha, ptt nye Shasha jd bridesmaid kau, kau jd bridesmaid aku and aku jd bridesmaid Shasha kn? Mcm bes je. Tu pun kalau Shasha sudi nk pilih aku la kn. Haha.
Anyway, aku rasa cukup la setakat ini aku membebel psl persediaan aku kn. Kang ade yg menanah mata baca panjang2. I will be updating about my hantaran, henna, hen nite (maybe) and all the other stuffs later2. I personally feel that this is way too long, but then again, aku pduli kah? *matila skali updet psl cerita 3-4 bln*

On Sunday, my Darling was saying that he didn’t wanna eat out anymore. Bosan dah. Nak sambal sardine katanya. So I decided to cook sambal sardine (with abosulutely no idea how) utilizing 1 can of mackerel (eceh) which belongs to my Darling. Since I didn’t know how to go about cooking this dish, I asked my Darling for instructions. After calling his mom or sis (I can’t remember), he walked me through the simple steps and voila, it’s done. Senang je sebenarnye. Hehe. Although I’m not a fan of ikan sardine tp tgk my Darling makan, sampe aku pun teringin. Oh btw, glad he liked it. :D
As I have been making it a point to sleep early (therefore waking up early too), I’ve hade time in the morning to prepare simple breakfast for my Darling. On Wednesday I fried some chicken tempura for him and today, I made French toast. It was nothing extraordinary. Roti telur je pun kn. That explains why I smell like fried eggs this morning. No kidding. I really do. But to see my Darling gobble up the toast like it was the best breakfast ever (over kn aku?), makes me forget about the fact that I’ll be smelling like fried eggs for the rest of the day today. :)
