Cooking Spree

I am in the habit of turning in early lately so that I am not deprived of my 8-hour sleep. *hi acai* My Darling was not so supportive of it in the beginning. Reason being, he wants to spend more time with me after work. Siap merajuk bile kol 9 je aku ckp aku dh ngantuk. But then I explained that, yes, I am digging the smokey eyes do and all that, but I really do not wanna look like an owl (or panda) on my wedding day. I know it’s not easy to get rid of this dark circles but it will not hurt to try, right? At least I’ll get to sleep enough (read : 8 hours) and get up early to prepare breakfast for him. :)

So anyway, I wanna talk about my cooking (read : goreng, rebus, letak dlm microwave) spree for the past few days. Hehe. Aku ni bukan nye rajin masak. That’s why my blog is seldom filled with food images. *hi aritha* It will probably change once I tie the knot, but the possibility of it remaining the same is still quite high. :p Nonetheless, here goes.

Last Saturday, we (my Darling and I) were invited to a colleague’s farewell potluck barbecue party. At first I decided to just bring over some fried nuggets or tidbits (matila pemalas nk mampus). But then, my Darling’s friend (the host) ‘requested’ for spaghetti. He must have thought I’m a good (or an OK) cook la kot. I mean apart from the fact that I’m getting married in 13 days (yikes!) and a girl. Besides, everyone knows how to make spaghetti kn? Ye la tu. Hmm. Maka adalah, aku pun wat la spaghetti. Alhamdulillah. They said it was yummy. They must be really hungry. Hehe.

On Sunday, my Darling was saying that he didn’t wanna eat out anymore. Bosan dah. Nak sambal sardine katanya. So I decided to cook sambal sardine (with abosulutely no idea how) utilizing 1 can of mackerel (eceh) which belongs to my Darling. Since I didn’t know how to go about cooking this dish, I asked my Darling for instructions. After calling his mom or sis (I can’t remember), he walked me through the simple steps and voila, it’s done. Senang je sebenarnye. Hehe. Although I’m not a fan of ikan sardine tp tgk my Darling makan, sampe aku pun teringin. Oh btw, glad he liked it. :D

As I have been making it a point to sleep early (therefore waking up early too), I’ve hade time in the morning to prepare simple breakfast for my Darling. On Wednesday I fried some chicken tempura for him and today, I made French toast. It was nothing extraordinary. Roti telur je pun kn. That explains why I smell like fried eggs this morning. No kidding. I really do. But to see my Darling gobble up the toast like it was the best breakfast ever (over kn aku?), makes me forget about the fact that I’ll be smelling like fried eggs for the rest of the day today. :)

p/s : as usual, pictures are randomly googled for viewing pleasure only.
